Diablo 4 Announces StarCraft Crossover

Diablo 4 has officially revealed its Season 10 collaboration event will be with StarCraft, featuring free weapon transmogs, a new Twitch Drop, and shop cosmetics inspired by Kerrigan, Jim Raynor, and other characters from the Koprulu Sector. This collaboration between Blizzard’s iconic sci-fi RTS and Diablo 4 starts September 26 and runs through October 10.

Season 10 of Diablo 4 is officially live, bringing with it some game-changing content, including Chaos Armor, Chaos Rifts, and Chaos Perks. However, for many players, one of the most exciting parts of this new season was that it would contain Diablo 4’s next IP collaboration.

Diablo 4 StarCraft Collaboration Highlights

Now, Diablo 4 has officially revealed that this crossover will be with one of its own franchises. The Diablo 4 StarCraft collab kicks off on September 26, bringing with it some fantastic new cosmetics to collect. The headlining features of this crossover are in the cash shop, where fans can get a slew of premium cosmetics designed after several iconic StarCraft characters: Jim Raynor for Barbarians, Infested Tychus for Druids, Zagara for Necromancers, Zeratul for Rogues, Tassadar for Sorcerers, and Kerrigan for Spiritborn. Beyond these sets, players can get a Zergling Mount, a Hydralisk Companion, and several Mount customizations, and an Emblem.

  • From September 26 until October 10
  • Cash Shop Items
    • The Rebel Marshal Barbarian Armor Set and A Friend in Low Places Weapon (Jim Raynor)
    • Heaven’s Devil Druid Armor Set and Flesh Grenade Weapon (Infested Tychus)
    • Overqueen of the Swarm Necromancer Armor Set and The Baneling Roll Weapon (Zagara)
    • The Dark Prelate Rouge Armor Set, The Nezarim Warp Blade Weapon, and Currents of the Void Marking (Zeratul)
    • The High Templar Sorcerer Armor Set, Khaydarin Pylon Weapon, and Era of the Executor Marking (Tassadar)
    • The Queen of Blades Armor Set, Chrysalis Weapon, and WIngs of the Reborn Queen Back Trophy (Spiritborn)
    • Zergling Rush Mount, Advanced Mutation Mount Armor, and Hive Cluster Growth and Artifact of the Swarm Mount Trophies
    • Sterling (Hydralisk) Companion, Relic of Zerus Mount Trophy, and Organism Unknown Emblem
  • Free Shop Items
    • Ancient of the Void Emblem and Arm of the Purifier Mace (Available September 26)
    • Forward unto Dominion Emblem and Heat of Char Polearm (Available September 27)
    • The Teeming Brood Emblem and Parasite Spitter Crossbow (Available September 28)
  • Twitch Drops
    • Terran, Protoss, and Zerg Emblems

That said, some of the items available through this collaboration will be completely free. Fans can collect a Terran, Protoss, and Zerg-themed Emblem and weapon transmog from the shop for free, with each pair becoming available on each of the first three days of the event. Once added, these will be available to claim until the end of the StarCraft collab on October 10.

There will also be a new Diablo 4 Twitch Drop campaign to celebrate this collab as well. During the event period, players who watch up to six hours of any Diablo 4 streamer on Twitch will earn Emblems bearing the symbols of each StarCraft faction for free. This also explains why Diablo 4’s ongoing Season 10 Twitch Drop campaign is so short, as it had to make room for the collaboration.

Exciting as this new crossover is, it seems noteworthy that the Diablo 4 x StarCraft event is not an external IP collaboration. After the Berserk crossover in Season 8, many fans expected the Season 10 collab to likewise be with a franchise outside of Blizzard – especially since Diablo 4 has already gotten World of Warcraft cash shop skins in the past. It seems like gamers may have to wait a little longer for another non-Blizzard IP to make its way to Sanctuary.
